The McCall area endowment lands are one of the crown jewels of the state of Idaho....
The McCall area endowment lands lie within the Idaho Department of Lands Payette Lakes Supervisory Area. In the Payette Lakes Supervisory Area there are approximately 100,000 acres of endowment land with 28,000 acres in the McCall area. The McCall area lands are all within the North Fork Payette watershed. These lands extend from three miles south of Upper Payette Lake on both sides of the North Fork of the Payette River, along both sides of Big Payette Lake, then east to where Lake Fork Creek flows into Little Payette Lake and in a long block going down the east side of the valley along Jug Mountain to Paddy Flat Road including Boulder Creek and Boulder Creek Reservoir. There are also portions at the south end of Ponderosa State Park and at the east end of Deinhard Lane, including the islands in Big Payette Lake. Within this area, approximately 5,500 acres of endowment lands are within the McCall Impact Zone. This is the zone that is defined in the McCall Comprehensive Plan prepared by the City of McCall in 2018.
